I was not aware that lethal injection was being challenged:

There has been only one execution - in Texas - since the Supreme Court agreed to consider the challenge to the use of the lethal injection lodged by death-row inmates Ralph Baze and Thomas Clyde Bowling Jr in Kentucky on 25 September.The pair argue that the method constitutes "cruel and unusual" punishment - forbidden by the US Constitution.

I've been following this closely since they shut down executions at San Quentin. It's about f---ing time they declared executions inhumane, and I'm glad they're still off the books for the time being. I hope they remain that way.
Yes. This is big news. ... We have a de facto moratorium on the death penalty now given that the majority of states use injection. ... We could conceivably see the end of the DP.
